It would have been hard for me to make the actual lights themselves.  That is why I bought the sealed units, now I'm just responsible for the wiring.  :yesnod:

bringing up an old subject but what size fuse did you use and why do some people say to run a resistor?

resistor only matters if you might be using them for turn signals to make it flash the same speed. Read further up what bigmike posted about the draw of these lights a 2 amp fuse seems to be more than enough

Now to compare this with these little LEDs that only draw 0.0038 amps each (0.023 amps / 6 LEDs), you could run 4,210 LEDs per switch before you melt it! WOW! Your entire truck would be glowing!! And that's only on one switch and one circuit!!

I've got the http://www.superbrightleds.com and they are AWESOME.

I went with their ALM-x6 6-led oval units instead of the more expensive Luxeon ones because I can get a pair of the ALM-x6 for the same price. They are very bright and only draw 0.025 Amps. I will have them all set up by the Round up

Regarding Round-eyes, I don't know why so many people like that company. They are over priced: They sell the Luxeon lights for $30 whereas http://www.superbrightleds.com sells the SAME EXACT THING for only $19.95!

If they were better then I could understand. Otherwise that is straight up robbery in my opinion.

Ordered! thanks for the advice guys!

What do you guys think of Glueing magnets to the rock lights? That way you can move them around if you have to work on the truck. Extra light is always nice and they make some pretty powerful magnets. Also thought about getting some LEDs for under the hood. Just my :twocents: Tell me what you think. Worst case scenario is you loose a 9 dollar light.

Here's the part list.

All from the led light store in Carson nv or theledlight.com

20 RGB led pods 4 LEDs
2.10 each pod $42
12 volt reg $18
RGB and audio controller with remote.  $43
20 ft of low voltage 4 wire $20

Total 123 plus tax

Wired all in and put one in the cab. They are really bright and if you like to party then there for you. Plus they are bright enough to use as Rick lights. The set up I installed pulls 2300 milla amps. The red blue green lights allow you to make many different colors.  The biggest advantage I see is the wired up together not each light seperate so there's not a gazilion wires running everywhere.

TimberlineBryce

Anyone ever order the eBay 10 led strand from china??
See you at the Timberline!

I got these cheap little strips
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0056Z036A/ref=mp_s_a_8?qid=1344398572&sr=8-8
They're pretty bright for what they are. Kind of a pain to wire since the wire is so tiny, but I soldered them and they seem good. Hopefully get some pictures tomorrow of them all installed.

Nimyad

Pics. They're actually really bright. Took a while to figure out a way to mount them. I just used hot glue and am going to add silicone or something later. They are brighter in person then from a phone pic.
