Dianne you are the most intertaining one on the board in my opinion I could laugh all day long at your posts. I don't feel like you HAVE to intertain anyone.

Thanks Gittin! LOL! I couldn't do it without the help of the other nuts on here.   :cheese:

Now that we have an understanding of why you are upset maybe you have a few suggestions of other rules that need to be in place?

So many different groups of friends on here, and most of which are directly related to a mod or couple of mods. So when you "report to moderators, you would be like telling someones friend on them. The mods on here stick together, and some are just "in" by association. Its like jr high!

If anyone has a problem with a certain person, or people and don't think they will be fairly moderated because of their association to a mod you can always PM Cruzila. He is the Big Cheese, the moderators moderator, and is very fair. He is not going to play favorites. He will :slap: everyone or anyone that needs a good :slap:

I would hate to see you leave the Marlin board.   :ladys-man:

I understand what you are saying, and you know I was just joking, as usual.  :disturbed:

There is more , but I will just start using my report to Moderator feature. I didn't want to drag this particular incodent out here. I was really hoping to stay kinda vague with all this. Due to a conversation Glen and I had about it he brought out this particular inncodent. Sorry Matt.

I agree with almost everything gittinit has said.  I think another issue here is the whole marlin/trail-gear  thing. Some people feel like their thoughts, suggestions or feelings are being squashed by moderators or other board members for no apparent reason. I have personally recieved multiple PMs from various board members regarding this and I try to stay out of it for the most part. We all know what we think has happened (to Marlin) but there has been no REAL resolution or answers given to the situation by anyone DIRECTLY representing the company. This is dividing the community into three groups: those who think it is OK to purchhase TG parts, those who do NOT think it is ok and those who do not care. The air needs to be cleared. enough of this e-drama  :willynilly:

I would like to know what is wrong with the cage! Is it the material used, how it was assembled. I read a few posts on the build thread, here and on Pirate a while ago and there might be a little snobbery going on because it's not DOM or TIG'd. Are there any concrete measurements that can show it's inferior to HREW (most cages in the world are made of this)? Is the gauge too light?

I like to think of a safety cage as having 3 important aspects: design, materials, and fabrication technique. Usually if a person has 2 out of the 3 they are PROBABLY good to go. I'm no engineer but I would would probably feel safer riding in a stock vehicle. :cheese:

Well...I can't fault you on that one.

Again, I didn't read the whole thread (I so seldom do)...what was the general tone of the critique? Was it harsh ball busting or friendly and well intentioned. I know I'm prone to cut of my nose to spite my face when someone gets up in my face...even if they're right. What I'm asking is...did the criticism force him into a defensive mode?

I didn't want this crap getting like this, please stop fanning the flanes guys. The cage is sub par, and thats all there is about that, but this is about if the mods should be able to remove, modify, or in some what change data that is posted on this forum. This cage is just one of a few items in question, along with the trail gear bashing that goes on here regularly.
Instead of pointing out what has been done lets try to change or fix this for future viewers.

I fail to see how someone posting a build that has some controversy has anything to do with driving business away from Marlin...unless Marlin endorsed the build.

Anyway, all you can do is offer advice. If that person decides not to heed it or value it...there's nothing else to do...if that bothers you, don't read that thread anymore.

I rack my brains here, but I don't have enough smarts, or education to come up with a quick solution. I do think that the contents of each build should meet a criteria, that is acceptable to Marlin Forum. When I started this post I was shure that this work was acceptable to Marlin Forum, but now I'm thinking not.

Gettinit,

1. I am one of the mods on the thread you are referring to and have not received a single complaint or report from you or anybody else for that matter.

2. I am not going to stand up for Matt on his cage build because I too feel it is unsafe. I would rather not see anybody get hurt in it including him.

3. I do have a lot of respect for your work and think you do a very nice job on what you do.

4. Trail gear will never be a good subject ever and you know that and why, but I agree we need to welcome everybody to this board even if they made a decision we do not agree with. We are here to educate, also we can only say so much as we have been told from above.

5. Job, what is this you speak of? We were asked to help and welcomed the task. You say you are not interested, but maybe you could make a difference or at least debate changes that you think should be made.

If anyone has a problem with anyone on this board mods included they are welcome to report it to another mod or an admin. So if something bothers you speak up.

I hope you decide to stick around, but you will do what you decide.

I Have never actually used the report to mod feature, but Its a good time to start.
2. I am not going to stand up for Matt on his cage build because I too feel it is unsafe. I would rather not see anybody get hurt in it including him.
This is the same conscern I have in this.
3. I do have a lot of respect for your work and think you do a very nice job on what you do.
Thanks Mr Willy. I put alot of research and time into my stuff, so I can do the best possible job with the funds and capabilitys I have.
4. Trail gear will never be a good subject ever and you know that and why, but I agree we need to welcome everybody to this board even if they made a decision we do not agree with. We are here to educate, also we can only say so much as we have been told from above.
I realize that trail gear will never bee seen as a good thing nor do I feel they should be viewed in such a manner. I do on the other hand feel that in order to Rid the world of their china crap, we have to have a better understanding ofthe people who purchase their products. Then use this understandind to crush trail gear under our heals. OK I got carried away there but you understand.

5. Job, what is this you speak of? We were asked to help and welcomed the task.
I refered to it as a job, as this is my redneck way of thinking, not becouse I was thinking you were rewarded for your efforts.
You say you are not interested, but maybe you could make a difference or at least debate changes that you think should be made.
I love a good debate. I don't have the patience to deal with mod duties, but I do care what happens to this forum, and will be involved however I can to help things progress. I think that the forum members should all be more involved in what this forum turns into as it grows.

If anyone has a problem with anyone on this board mods included they are welcome to report it to another mod or an admin. So if something bothers you speak up.
Thats kinda what I was trying to do. Thanks for being supportive.

I hope you decide to stick around, but you will do what you decide.
