Good price or not????
« on: Jul 17, 2007, 02:25:16 PM »
I found a deal on a 1979 Front axle and top shift transfer case for $250 bucks.... i was wondering if this is a good price, it sounds good but i just want to make sure.

When i talked to him, he told me that both were in working order when they were taken out of the truck... but the front axle has a busted hub.

so please help, give me some info  :gap:

Sounds good, Front axles are usually $250, transfer cases usually $75

You should have a W56, so I would say yes. :yesnod:

Make sure it is a gear drive case. 7 bolts on the rear cover.

All you'd need is an adapter to bolt them together.

Topshift transfer case bolts directly to a W56 (if that is what he has)

I thought he meant the adapter to bolt the t case and the reduction box together.

Either way, your rear transfer case will be a gear driven top shift case, so you're good to go.
