So what if it was millions of billions, how large is the universe? Infinite? It is not feasible that we could be the only life forms

The universe is actually not Infinite (that we know of)   but it is obviously expanding everyday... dark matter and such.

My point exactly, if theres a possibilty of millions of planets that can house life forms.. then there's a pretty darn good chance that other life forms do exist.

Im just skimming here, but isn't it a proven fact that if we could travel at the speed of light that time would actually speed up and you'd age faster?

i asked my teacher that same thing about light travel and what not and he said that you are going to fast that things seem normal for you once you get used to it and you dont age a day. but when you get back lets say twenty years after you left, you would look maybe a few months older or just the exact same, but EVERYTHING around you is 20 years older to you, and everything to them is normal because they have seen it change but when you get back they freak out because you look like you did twenty years ago

I would say that there might not be one "religion", but there most certainly is one absolute BELIEF.

Without digging deep, I'll just mention a couple reasons for this:

In the book of Revelation, John speaks of one singular group of people who stronghold their faith and beliefs in the end time, regardless of what is happening around them, and will be the only group of people still alive who will be saved at the 2nd coming of Christ. (Rev. 12:17)

In the book of Acts, Luke mentions time and time again that the believers were together and had all things in common (2:44), the believers were of one heart and soul (4:32), and the believers were of one accord (2:1).

Of course there are countless stories in the old testament of great feats when Gods children were of one accord, and horrible defeats and entire cities lost when His children were not all on the same page. Needless to say, all secular history books have records of these same events that took place in the Bible.

The problem with this is you're making the one mistake many religious folk make trying to prove or justify:  they quote a book/books that means absolutely nothing to the non-religious.  To the rest of us those are nothing more than stories, and if you so choose you can use them to help guide your life, but you've already been given the gift of knowing right and wrong.  You can do with that what you will.
RIP KYOTA

You can go through life being scared of the possible, or you can have a little fun and tease the inevitable.

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!

I didn't want to be the one to say it since I don't have a lot of horsepower on this forum, but that's exactly how I feel.  I'm sure BigMike is aware that any competing religion has plenty of followers who can point to their own texts as proof of their rightousness, and I'm willing to bet that they can all quote passages and tie them into history, but the existence of a book does not prove its validity.

If God really does exist, then he would want you to learn about him and he will reveal himself to you. All you need to do is just get serious about knowing Him.

I thought so, too.  I tried like mad to find some faith many years ago, at a rather critical point in my life, and studied pretty hard on all things churchly and bible-ly.  I was doing whatever I could, opened up fully and humbly to all possibilities, looking for any sign that any of it was the least bit valid.  I didn't get diddly.  No signs, no light, no hint, no feeling, no glimmer of hope, no encouragement whatsoever.  Started thinking that maybe lots of people who wanted me to get on board were all very happily living a great big lie, and making something that didn't exist the most crucial focal point of their life.  Faith may make life easier, but if it is not real, personal faith, it's no good to me.  I couldn't find faith, so I decided I would rather live a harder life that I believed in than half-arse a religion just to have a set of rules to live by and the approval of the community.

If religion makes your life better, by all means run with it.  I'm chosing to leave it alone.  I think I've said all I want to say about this topic, so I can shut my trap before offending anyone (further).  Such a volatile subject matter.

So much for alien life forms...though I do want some spaghetti.  Tomorrow, maybe.
