brake up grades

I have 37 inch tires on my truck and I can't stop for . Is there an east upgrade that doesnt cost an arm and a leg? Bigger brakes off of something that bolt up? Thanks Cody

stock. it is an 85 all i have done is put steel braided lines on it.

Get the FJ 60 vented rotors, v6 finned calipers and the 1" bore master cylinder. If you need more after this do a rear disc conversion.

If Im not going disc rears, but I am upgrading to the vented rotors and v6 calipers do I really need the 1'' bore?

I would say yes as I found that the stock MC just did not provide the nice high and firm peddle I like.

Additionally when doing the new FJ rotors, you must put in new wheel bearings too correct?
If i remember correctly, the races are sunk into the caliper themselves.

NO, the rotors bolt to the wheel hub, you just have to knock out your wheel studs undo the 2 bolts remove the old rotor and install the new one.

But since you have to pull the hubs to change the rotors the only added work is changing the bearing races plus the wheel bearing kits from Marlin come with all of the gaskets you need too.  8)

Why change your bearings if you don't need to?

I rebuilt my entire front axle when I upgraded my brakes, so I replaced practicaly everything. Depending on the condition of your wheel bearings you may not have to do it. If it has been a long time since you replaced them last, might as well do it while its all apart.
