If you have not seen this show then you should. This guy is hard core survivalist. I only wish I had the stomach to eat a raw sheep eye!

New episodes Friday at 9pm. This is my favorite show too. Discovery has an other guy ( surviver man) which is really good, full of info but he is alone and does not take any chances. Kind of like Bear drink water from Elephant dung!!!! :puke:

Favorite show, but it's either "broad"band internet or TV since I'm poor.

Internet always wins

I like Survivorman better. Man vs Wild he's not really on his own, he's got at least a cameraman or crew with him.
Survivorman is doing the same thing, by himself, with all his camera equipment and filming it all himself.
OK, so yeah, he's a bit more cautious, but that's really how you should be if you are trying to get out alive.

I like survivor man better too.For much the same reason.Bear isn't really alone and lost. And either he doesn't have facial hair or gets to shave every nite.I know if I was out in the wilderness for 3-4 days I'd atleast have some stubble. He is always clean shaven looking. :dunno: maybe he has a baby face.

Baby face or dumb ass, I don't think there is a difference here. Anyone that shows you all the wrong thing to do and does them is an idiot.

This show is just another reality show that uses the shock effect of eating gross things to get attention.

Survivor Man at least does a better job of teaching you how to survive and that should be what the show is about.

Not Man verses Wild, cause wild will win every time if you aren't carfull.

Eggzacktamundo! We've watched both, often, and gave up on Man vs Wild for exactly those reasons.
Man vs Wild is a poser. Survivorman is the real deal. He really makes you think.

one thing I've learned from Bear is if you're stuck in the desert you can piss on your shirt and wrap it around your head to cool down

I like both shows.  They're both informative and good learning tools, just depends on what you're into.  I'd never sweat being lost with either of them, camera crew or not.

And then the effects of ammonia on your skin turn your stomach and you barf, resulting in a huge loss of fluids...

I'm with the others on Les Stroud and Survivorman.

Bear ends up in a motorhome every night, with AC/heat and bikini girls feeding him grapes, while Les is out there dragging batteries around.

Bear ends up in a motorhome every night, with AC/heat and bikini girls feeding him grapes, while Les is out there dragging batteries around.

I watched one on Sat. where he was dropped on tropical island (the story was that he was kayaking at a resort on one island, he got caught in the current, ended up miles from the resort island on another island, but while he was trying to get his bearings his kayak floated away, or something like that)

The island was all jungle, he stayed on the beach for a day or so but then decided to head through the jungle. He was so regretting it! It was really good, he seemed genuinely upset with his choice of leaving the beach. He couldn't sleep at night for all the critter, spiders as big as his hand, scorpions. he was creeped out.

At one point he was trying to cut a vine with a knife to try to get water out of it, some monkey's throwing things at him distracted him and he cut his hand to the bone.

That guy is going to go the way of Steve Irwin in some weird tragic accident that he's going to catch on tape.
