stop driving the truck!!!!! :shake:A buddie's neihbor's son has 93 runner that the first gear went out of a few weeks ago. He's been dtiving it around witout it. Sam has a tranny and told him he would sell it to him. The guy brings me the Runner and says can you check the clutch while your at it. I said sure, this is what I found!!!! The clutch was replaced about 6 months ago. No good now!!! I don't even think the warranty will cover it. The fly wheel has some cracks in it that will probly not be able to get out by resurfacing.  Oh well, I'm getting paid to do it!!! :gap:   The last pic is just some of the clutch material that fell out when I pulled the pressure plate.

Yeah, the dad asked if putting the new tranny in with a good first gear make the clutch work better!!! :headscratch: :screwy:

This reminds me of my buddies first trip to the Con without dual t-cases....

When we pulled his tranny the flywheel and clutch looked exactly like that. Freaking hilarious when the clutch comes off and it looks like a bird built a nest with it...

I would imagine the difference in 1st and 2nd is pretty similar to swapping out your 29's or 30's for 33's with stock gears...

No way.  Huge difference.  My buddy has 37 inch tires on his stock-geared rig and still burns rubber on pavement.

2nd gear, even without those tires - would not leave rubber.  No way.

Add to that starting uphill, and you double the damage.
