What size wheel spacers?

Well I took my rig out last weekend and confirmed what i pretty much already knew. I am way to tall. So am looking to purchace some wheel spacers to kind of balance her out. I was thinking about either two inch or three inch, but i think three inch might be over kill what do you think?

For about the same price as wheel spacers you can get some 2" backspaced wheels, that will push you out about 1.75 on each side, and you don't lose the safety aspect. If you want to go wider after that, then 1.5" spacers is as wide as I would go.

what kind of spring setup are you running on the front?  how far forward is/was your axle pushed?

i have been running 2 1/2" spacers in the rear to match my 44 front and have had no problems with them...

my wheels are already backspaced 2 inches and they still barely, and i mean barely stick outside the fenders. I have marlin front springs and my axle is pushed foward 3 inches

remember when you get those spacers you may have problems with the tire tearing into the firewall/fender or body mount. When I had toyota running gear and went to a 2" spacer I loved the width but had to do alot of sawzall/hammer action to keep it from rubbing and even breaking axles!

you can get spacers in pretty much any size, several vendors sell up to 3" spacers

Doesn't Marlin sell 2.5 spacers?


Edit:  Well lookie there.  Marlin USED to sell 1.5, 2, 3" spacers.  Looks like they just carry the 1.5" spacers now.

Remember, the further out you push your front tires from the knuckle pivot, the worse your turning radius becomes.

I am running 2" wheel spacers on my front end and I can't even make a U-turn at a normal intersection. I hate it. If I can't maneuver my truck IN THE CITY, then how the heck am I supposed to do it in the rocks?!

Marlin's truck is running 1" spacers in the front, and his long bed truck will out turn my short bed truck easily.

It is definitely a trade off: I would MUCH rather not roll my truck

Because i rub every once in a while how it is and the body is too clean to hack.

I guess what i am trying to ask is there any any downsides, besides turning radius, to going all the way with the three inch. Will they put more stress on the drive train etc.

Turning radius will be the biggest drawback IMO, and although many people say the 3" spacer is hard on the bearings, etc, every time I see someone with them I also ask how its holding up, and I've never heard anyone have problems with them. I've never used them, so I have to take their word for what it is.

Remember, if you have just a slight hint of death wobble right now, putting on any size spacer will magnify it.

a cut fender is better than a rolled truck. my body is hella clean too and im goin to be cutting ton. try moving the front end a little.

ive heard this too, its the same as runnin wider wheels with less backspacing -- just need to make sure to check lug torque on 2x as many nuts

For the price of doing that i could buy spacers for the front and rear. Plus i need more than 1.5 inches

Well think ive made up mind and am going to go with 2 inch spacers thanks for everybody's input!
