i am getting tired of a carb and i want to convert my 22r to an RE.what all would i need to do this swap and how easy/hard is it?

No expert here, but that would be a lot of work. I think you will need new manifolds, maybe even a head and the complete injection system from a donor truck. Have you considered doing an engine swap? 2.7L 3RZ It may be a little more work, but well worth the time.

What about an aftermarket TBI fuel injection for the 22r?

A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

I did it, it's alot of work.  I had a complete 85 as a donor.  I used the entire wiring harness, all the EFI stuff under the hood, gas tank, fuel lines.

Yea, just like the guys above said, and its alot cheaper than 3RZ swap. You could piece it together, but it will be more expensive. You might keep checking the items for sale post, sometimes you can find complete systems on there.

thanks for all the info guys. i came up with another idea which raises another question. would it be worth it to just swap in a 4.0 high output inline six from a jeep or an inline six from a land cruiser? i just want gobs and gobs of torque

Hottrod81

No, not a heep motor.  If you are going to do a swap, think 4.3L Chevy.
