Air Cleaner Screw Broken
« on: Jun 11, 2007, 01:51:12 PM »
So the screw that comes up out of my carb and into the air cleaner, holding the air cleaner in place with a wing nut, well it's broken off.
I'm sure someone else has run into this problem, how do I fix it?

It appears to be part of the carb, at least in my eyes.
How did you get it out? Vise grips?

I tried some vice grips on it just then, nothing.
I think I might try tapping it and placing a nut and stud on top.

do you have a bolt out kit? i was able to get mine out, with some effort though. try spraying some pb blaster where it threads into the carb, and let it soak a little bit.....

No bolt out kit. Mine doesn't look like it threads in to be honest.
I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow when I'm wrenching on it. I'll take some pics.
