Air Cleaner Screw Broken

So the screw that comes up out of my carb and into the air cleaner, holding the air cleaner in place with a wing nut, well it's broken off.
I'm sure someone else has run into this problem, how do I fix it?

can you get the screw out? its an m6x1.0 stud.... i got a stud at my local fastener place and i modified mine to be taller....

It appears to be part of the carb, at least in my eyes.
How did you get it out? Vise grips?

mine wasnt broken off, i have a set of thru sockets and halfway down it has a nut built in to the stud.... i jsut unbolted it...


if there is any left sticking out, you can try vicegrips on it....

I tried some vice grips on it just then, nothing.
I think I might try tapping it and placing a nut and stud on top.

do you have a bolt out kit? i was able to get mine out, with some effort though. try spraying some pb blaster where it threads into the carb, and let it soak a little bit.....

No bolt out kit. Mine doesn't look like it threads in to be honest.
I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow when I'm wrenching on it. I'll take some pics.
