Road Trip to NoWhere.....

So it's Friday night and my buddy Shaun (JedRattle) calls me up and says the deal is ON!  Haven't done a stupid road trip in a while so we're off!

First I gotta get Troy's tires loaded up to take back to him.  Hope I don't wake him up dropping them off.


Tires loaded up and now I'm on the road down to Jed's house.


I haven't been driving more than five minutes and the check engine light comes on.   At first I don't notice anything, but it seems that something is wrong with the overdrive.  Won't shift into OD and won't go over 60mph.

Managed to get to Jed's and get on the road.  I5 North


Sun is up.   275 to Sac.... this might take a while.

Once you get out of LA all the gas stations have Subway's in them.  This is wierd to us, don't know why.

That's all.  It was a long drive and we amused ourselves by taking pictures.  Left home at 3:30am, got home at 10:30pm.  On the road the whole time.

Look forward to a 3.4 swap thread for Jed in the future.

I love threads like this.  I think people should post more "no point" stories of trips on the road.
We can all relate and by the way, that exit you took in Walnut Creek - that's my exit, too.

  It's official...... I am crazy!!    Your killing me with a picture of the 'Subway' !!! There were soo many gas stations like that......we started marking the map where the ones were that didn't have one!!     It's funny how one city looks a lot like another city.... 400 miles away!  That was cool going by Marlins. I could drive back there in my sleep!!  Too bad no one was working after hours. Oh well!   Another thing we discovered.........It never fails......when you cannot find a good radio station...the mexican stations come in loud and clear!!!      That was fun! Thanks to Earl for going with me!!!   











P.S.     Yes there is a 3.4 swap in my future!!

  Another thing we discovered.........It never fails......when you cannot find a good radio station...the mexican stations come in loud and clear!!!      That was fun! Thanks to Earl for going with me!!!

Funny thing was, we had satellite radio.  He had just taken the docking station out to put it in a different car.  He brought the receiver with us and we were looking for a Best Buy or something the whole way up.  There is absolutely NOTHING on the 5 North!

They talk/sing too fast!   I don't care for the Mariachi (sp?) stuff, but there were a few stations that we listened to for a few minutes before we realized it was in Spanish.

Cool!  I always seem to make these trips myself so pics are outa the question, but I do like the quicky "come get my parts today" type of trips better than the planned out ones.

  I got a screamin deal!  2400 for everything!!     I remember the Best Buy. I think something was said about it....like..... we'll get on the way back. I think that's about where we saw that ugly dodge...so we missed it.      The swap won't be for a little bit. I need to sell some stuff. I am flat ass broke right now. I bought a boat the weekend before and then this stuff.  So money is really tight. I had to put the wife's flowers(anniversary) on my card.     


  Anyone interested in a good running 22re and w56 trans...new clutch setup including the slave cylinder?  All Pro crossmember?  Doug Thorley smog legal coated header brand mew never mounted?  I'll post in the for sale stuff before someone yells
