I have an 2002 VW Jetta & noticed the sun roof is leaking the other day  :smack:  I also noticed that the sun roof wasn't closing all the way to make a good seal. I know the seal is bad. My question is  how do I access the seal? Does the headliner come down? It has the side impact air bags in the pillars & I don't want to do this all day :wall:

yea I believe the headliner comes down, thats the way it is in my wifes 00'

YES it is a PITA, her's didn't have a leak but wasn't closing sometimes, it would stay cracked for some odd reason.

the problem is not in the seal  ,your sunroof have drain tubes at each corner. those tubes get clogged up with dirt and  :pokinit:.   the front drain tubes are at lower A  pillars
the rear ones run behind rear wheel wells ..you can use airgun blow them out
