Marlin Clutch?
« on: Apr 30, 2007, 01:17:38 PM »
I'm swapping my L45 4spd for an L52 in the next little bit, now while it's not W56 or R151F it will get the job done for now. Plus give me an OD for the highway and since the truck is driven to trails I'd like to have an OD.

Now commen sense says that if you are swapping a transmission you should also put a new clutch in.
What clutch thought? The Cermic or Semi-metallic? I don't want the on/off feeling and I'd like to be able to slip the clutch if needed.
What pressure plate 1200 or 1600?

Thanks
Anthony

i have the regular marlin 1600, had it for about a year.... it is awesome.

if your truck is going to spend anytime on the street, i would get the regular one.... the ceramic will msot likely be too snappy for your use... it all depends though, because driver a may like that while driver b may not.....

I have seen lots of w56 have problems. over rated.
My bro has the Marlin 1600# clutch and pedal pessure is lite, but it holds strong with an LC engineering motor...
I have the LC pro clutch and zero complaints, I just R+R'd it and it looked like new after 1.5 years, not even really much wear at all...

Cool, thanks guys.

I'll go with the 1600 Semi-Metallic since I've gotta drive the truck to the trails.
