Ok, I am now using a VirtualHost call instead of using a htaccess ifmodule call to mod_deflate. The new method has browser traps and support for proxy servers.

Can someone verify if http://marlincrawler.com works? It works fine on my machine...

Thanks
Mike

EDIT: Ok, everything should be back to normal now :)

I'm using Mozilla 2.0 and only the http://marlincrawler.com works.  http://www.marlincrawler.com does not work.

I cannot replicate this error. What address are you accessing? What URL?

I think it will take a couple of hours to become stable again. I will revisit this tomorrow morning.

Yeah, I think it will just take 4-12 hrs to update DNS servers, or whatever it is.

I guess even our website has a Marlin Crawler

If glen too is using an older version of firefox, could the issue arise easier due to that?

What versions? Apparently the version of Mozilla/IE play a role in this.

Ok. Maybe this has something to do with compressed CSS files. Please let me know if the sites are working now :crossed:

Now this is real interesting, it looks like IE is automatically correcting the error. The first thing I notice is that the address looks like the first part "http://www." is a light gray color and the "marlincrawler.com" is the usual black color.

I also got this message:

Compatability View: websites designed for older browsers will often look better, and problems such as out of place menus, images or text issues will be corrected.

I just helped another member in the shoutbox who was getting the funky code when starting the URL with WWW.  He removed the WWW and just went to http://marlincrawler.com and said it worked fine that way.

Mike--should we start asking people what browsers, etc., they are using, or do you pretty much have enough information at this point?
