valve cover question are all created equal?/

are the early 22r and the 22re  valve covers the same height????   i have a nice powdercoated 22r  cover( i think from an early 22r will it work on my 86 22rte?? or will valves or rockers touch

Set valve cover on head and crank engine over with a breaker bar.

it  should work  ok, i have a RE  cover on my 22R  but i run a LCEngineering .460 lift cam  and it  would hit  the  22R  cover

IIRC, the PCV baffle is not as tall on the RE, and it's riveted on instead of bolted.  That said, I couldn't get one to clear on my 84. :twocents:

i  did  remove  the tin baffle  on the 22RE  cover  cause it  hit  the timing gear :dunno:

crap i guess i will have to pull it that sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!  i paid alot for that!!!! ill have to see about getting a 22re one powdercoated!!!
