I have an 1989 Gen1 4Runner (i.e. leaf spring)

I have AOR Orbit eye springs.
Off the cuff I think they are 60" springs - i.e. 4" longer.

The front spring hanger has been relocated 4" forward on the frame.

The springs were spec'd to be rather stiff as I used to drive around with a ton of tools etc and ferry DJ stuff (heavy).

Now that the tools have been uloaded etc, the truck sits kinda high in the rear.

Im planning on installing split rear seats (it has an OEM "parcel shelf" now) as I now am married and have children (#2 ont he way).

The truck has been in stored for a few years - IM thinking of returning the truck to semi DD use (winter).

This means lowering the truck back to a closer to stock height.

Im thinking that I can either
a) get a Marlin rear spring hanger and weld it on "forward" and thus increase the shackle angle
and/or
b) get shorter shackles (I think the AOR shackles were about 2-3" longer?)

Are there drawbacks to doing this?
yeah yeah - still IFS...
