Anyone Running Honda Accord Seats?
« on: Apr 03, 2007, 09:56:10 PM »
So I did a few quick search's and didn't see anything although I recall a seat thread somewere.

My current cushion's are Honda Accord seats out of a 91' I believe..

Here's my question,

Is anyone running these, if so can I see some pics of your crafty mounting points?

When I ripped out the carpet and did a little cleaning on the inside I decided to pull out the seats for easy access.. well.. ever since I pulled them out I have no clue HOW they were bolted in there...  weird huh?

They will not sit flush at all because of the bracket that sits closest to the tranny in the back on both sides. I've thought about building a subframe from 1"x1" square tubing and just creating my own mounting points but the only trouble with that is i'll either have to notch the 1" tubing to go over the stock "L brackets" that are on the truck now. I've also thought about just cutting off all the brakets and welding them on the seat were ever I felt like... or.. where ever's easiest placement within the space provided in the cab itself.. BUT.. only snag I found w/ this option is there's only so many places that I really can relocate them because of the slide rails on the seat.

Soo.... with that said, what are you ingenious idea's for mounting in aftermarket seats?

What do you think about my idea's?  anything to add?

It's appriciated!

Shamb.

I have 92-95 civic seats in my '90 and it was VERY simple to mount them.

The front holes lined up with the Yoda seat holes (even though I had a bench)... And the rear is a piece of 1/4" seat bent in a 90º angle. I will attempt to get some pics for you.

Yea mines WAY different, in the second picture you see where both of the front brackets meet up against the original mount points from the Toyota seats?

Mine are offset by a good 4" atleast.. so if I was sitting in my seat and looking down the one on the right isn't even close yet the one on the left fits perfect.

For the rear mounts one is flat (one on the right rear)  and the one on the left is pointing strait down.. I tried the 90* bracket for the front and it just didn't wortk out at all.. I spent a few hours trying to get it into place and it wasn't going to work because of the angle.

Thank's for the pic's though... if it turns into to mcuh of a hassle i'll just find a better fitting seat.

I believe the sliders are able to move independently when they are not bolted down... Is this maybe why the front is so far off???

the slide rails do move but the mount doesn't move because its welded to the outer rail, not the inner.

I'll take another look at it this weekend, I also thought about cutting out that long angled stock bracket that's in the Toyota so i've got a bit more of a flush surface to work with.

I have accord seats and they mount fine on 3 of 4,  like said before, your rails might not be lined up.  The other is a mod bracket.  I'll try and scoop up some picks.
