Spotter's honda just started makng a strange sound whn the clutch was pushed in.  She said it sounds like a grinding.  I am not there to hear it, so I cant really tell but I was thinking either pilot or throwout bearing.  On a side note, her parking brake light came on, and the brake was not on.  Any ideas of what these may be?

Thanks

Id say pilot or throwout like you said...

My moms brake light randomly came on too. She has the same style accord. Hers is a 4door 1992. All I did was undo the fuse, 15 seconds later put it back in. Light hasnt been on since. Either that or I think it means that her brakes might be going bad or a brake light is out. Thats what I looked up when my moms light came on.

Yes, i thought it was ok last night but i went to drive it this morning and it is not fine....When i push in the clutch it makes a grinding noise like i am grinding my gears, i tried it in nuetral and in first gear.  And the parking light does stay on even when the brake is off, but there is no resistance.  I don't think this is related but maybe it is....my key gets stuck in the ignition and doesn't want to turn when  i try to start it up.....gr......
any suggestions?

Yeah, tell BD to fix it!  :talkingn:

no :nope:  I hate that car!  :psss: I'll wind up fixing it anyway, but I really dont want to.  My guess is its the pilot or throwout bearing :dunno:

well i know its not a toyota but when I did my tranny in my truck my pilot bearing was F**ked up! And it sure made a nasty noise when I drove it. Oh and the reason my pilot bearing was F*ed was cause my internals were trashed and that bearing was taking up the slop from my input shaft. I dunno but good luck and happy wrenching.

I had the same brake light problem with my honda.  I drove it for a year and a half on the brake light.  And my brake wasn't on ;) As far as the grinding, I never had that problem, but I also had a new clutch put in.....Good luck!!!

Well if it's the original clutch, then I'd guess you're right.  My original clutch went out on me at 205k on my '86 LX-i Accord...... They're only like $120 for the set....

Free Fix!  Not the clutch....We bled the slave cylinder, tightened it, and all is well, thanks for the advice!
