Topic: need 1985 p/u caliper swap info.....

I have an 85 p/u and I was wondering if I could do a straight swap of my stock calipers for a set off of an 85 4runner? Has any one done this swap?  If so, any problems or was it a straight plug and play deal?
The guy said that they are bigger but should go right in. But, I just want to make sure I don't end up having to buy spacers or bigger rims.  thanks.

they are the exact same parts man,  85  is a 85  now  if its  a 86  aka  IFS  front  NOT solid axle  then NO  the wont swap  without spacers

an 85 4runner with a solid axle has the same parts as an 85 truck with a solid axle

You CAN swap in front brakes from newer 4runners. The front brakes I run on my 85 solid front axle came off a '91 IFS 4runner. I did have to take a grinder and clearance them the extra 1/16 inch because my back spacing wasn't quite enough. But once you settle the space issues because the IFS brakes are larger, then they work great.
