So as I had mentioned , Inland Empire Driveline was hooking me up with new driveshafts and were putting the Macho Taco on display at the Off-Road Expo.Well as it turns out they got the wrong flange shipped to them and everything came down to the last minute, well my bro (4DEES) picked up the driveshafts for me last night and we fought to get them on the truck last night but it wasn't happening. We had little to no light and I got all frustrated and just gave up.The rear driveshaft weighs a GRIP!!!!.So,I turned to an old friend  and got really drunk and went to bed  :smack: .Woke up this morning to try to bust out the driveshafts only to find out the flange they had to make for me was the wrong bolt pattern (wich explains why it wouldn't line up),close but no cigar. So I ended up mounting my old shafts back on this morning and cleaning up the truck to take it to the Expo...REALLY big thanx to  www.IEDLS.com  for hooking me up.That rear driveshaft is around $900 and the front is somewhere in the neighborhood as well  :sheerterror: .Here's a couple pics of the shafts:

Well they're compressed all the way that's why they look so short. The flanges in the middle are the fuses. They're made so that instead of breaking the driveshaft tube, you break the pins and you just replace them and go.They're supposed to be really easy to change out and you carry extras so that if they were to break you don't have that much down time. They run them in the high dollar rails and drag cars with high HP motors.

So where is a picture of it on display??? Damn I wish I was back at home  :hammer:

Like that idea of a fuse, those shafts are  :bling:. But I have never broke a u-joint to worry about it. And normally a shaft breaks from a direct hit or dent that will cause it to twist. I know you have broke a yoke in the past  :beerchug:

It's just a picture of the Macho Taco in the dark.  Not even a good pic really.  You've seen the truck before so I'm not re-hosting it. :slap:

the truck looking so nice infernal it looks way better when i saw it
how do you get to park your truck there because i always wanted to show off my jeep in the expos???????

Reynolds

Truck looks SO good!!! I like the idea of those pins in the driveshaft shearing before anything bad happens but won't they get you hung up on more stuff because they are heavy duty? Maybe IED wanted to show off some of the new stuff they made?  :dunno:  :beerchug: :beerchug: on the truck though

Thanx for all the kind words fellas  :beerchug: .It felt really good to have my rig there and I would cruise by from time to time and see people checking it out which felt really awesome. All though I did find a note on my truck where someone was hating on the Macho  :shake: telling me my truck is junk and that they hope to never see me on the trail  :shake: ,but oh well.Overall everyone I came accross complimented me on my truck so that was way cool...So now it's all loaded up and ready to hit The Hammers first thing in the morning with Marlin and a few others  :beerchug:

Are you serious!?!?! Some coward come by and did that.... Didn't have the nuts to say who it was or say lets see this thing work. Most likly some Jeep f*g who runs around on fire trails with 33's or something. Some one stuck in the mind set that your truck is to tall to wheel so it's junk. Most likly he will never see you on the trails cause he would be on dirts roads and not hard trails.  :shake:

Cool as hell you had your truck at the expo, good job mang...

Seriously?  There will always be haters out there.  To each their own and for the most part it is the ones at the bottom that put other people(people's stuff) down to make themselves feel better.

Anyway, I past by the Macho Taco a few times and would see people all around it too.  I never ran into Eddie, but I saw his cuz a couple of times and ran into a couple TTORA/SCTC members.  I finally got to see the bikini top on the rear section.  It looks nice.  That is what I had planned for my 83,... speaking of it.  My little brother is making that thing look really nice.  He is doing everything I had planned to do to it and now I kind of want it back.  He said he was going to burn the pink slip so I don't get any ideas,...lol.
