Hey-I've been reading stuff on here for a while but only just got registered.  In boulder co.  87 4runner with 32's and a detroit in the rear.  New 22re.  Looking to swap it all onto an sa frame as soon as I can find one and work from there.  Sweet site-I've learned a lot here

It would be easier to just do an SAS on your rig than transfer all your parts to an old frame.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

maybe easier but lots more expensive, assuming the donor frame and springs(for now) are solid.  I've been looking at complete 85's (not running) for  600 or 700 and the sas is what, something like 1500+front axle+ rear lift?  I'd love to do the sas but I can't weld and don't have the money for everything i'd need right now.

What?  That's awesome- sign me up.  How would I go about pulling this off? chevy springs and ford super tall shock towers are the cheapest way i've heard of.  Is that a good or bad way to go?  Thanks a lot.

:welcome: to the board, I'd do the SAS in the long run it'll be cheaper. Plus like others have said it can be done without all the expense.
