« on: Mar 02, 2007, 01:04:33 PM »
I recently bought an '83 SR5 with a 22r. at the moment it sits on about 3" rear blocks  :headshake:
i dont have any pics at the moment but i will get some as soon as i can. a question i have is with the height difference between the 4" and 5" trail flex kits. i will be buyin one of the kits in the future but i want to know how high the truck will be after either kit. does anyone have any pics of either kit??

4" up to 35, 5" up to 37, IIRC
not completely correct.... i can think of a couple other factors that might make a difference
(1) how much fender trimming u want to do (2) if u tub firewall  (3) if u have a body lift.....

so 4.88 would be out of the question?

Cam
i wouldnt unless u want a gutless truck

You can run up to 40's with 4" springs, it just depends on how much hacking you want to do.  I personally would not go over 4" springs because I like to keep my center of gravity lower.   I run 4:88's, but my rig is primarily trail only and I have 4.7's in the rear case.  If you drive on the road a lot, 5.29's would be much better.

im thinkin that i will only trim the fenders to match the front bumper. right now i dont have a valance and the fenders hang down way too far. i have heard that 5.29's will heat up too much when you drive for too long.... is that true or is there a way to stop that, like using synthetics?
i still havent decided if i want 4" or 5" springs. i dont want to have to stuff tires under the fenders, i want there to be plenty of travel room but i also dont want to have to trim the fenders way down.
any suggestions?

Sucks bad, unfortunately the more rare our trucks become the more popular they become with the theifs.
