Does any one know what a 24 valve cummins motor push (HP/Torque?) I am trying to compare to what I want. Thanks. ( Definitely NOT a Chevy  :hammerhead: )

setup right  a 24 valve  can  easily  get you 300HP  and about 700 lbs of torque

CTENG in KS

Depends on the year...new ones are around the 300, 600 mark.
Older they were putting out in the 500lb-ft range.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

I think the 24 valve non-HOs are around 235/460. That is a rough number from what I remember.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

that will be a nice tow rig.  you can get more hp out of those trucks really easily.  Edge makes a nice module and TS is coming out with something.  let us know what you do to it.

why the 98?  they didn't change the body style till 03.  plus you i think you can't get the six speed in the 98.  i have a 98 24v and my parents 02 h.o. my parents truck with a edge chip leaves my truck with a bullydog chip in the dust.  and i have cold air intake and 4" exhaust

The early model year 98s have the 12 valve engine and also benefit from the new interior design and the suicide doors for the extended cab. I am pretty sure that only the NV4500 was offered in 98 and 99. I agree and see no reason to buy a 98 other than that elusive early model with the 12v.

Given the statements above that mention you want a 24 valve and a 6 speed. I do not see it feasible or worthwhile to buy a 98. I would not buy a 24 valve unless it was an HO and had a 6speed, then you would need a 2000-20002 truck, which is gonna cost you.
