Marlin on Extreme 4x4
« on: Jan 28, 2007, 10:18:41 AM »
Marlin got a little blurb on todays Extreme 4x4, they are using Marlins Hi-steer on the fj cruiser project. Jessi also said that the 85 cruiser was going to get doubles so I'm guessing those are from MC also? we'll see

Is it an old episode?  I remember them coming on the forum last year and saying to watch the upcoming episodes for a toyota buildup using the Marlin high steer!

It was a new one.

I hope the doubler and t-case gears are :turtle: as well. Will make the project that much better.

I saw it. I was surprised. Now they are a step higher in my book, for using Marlin Stuff. It would of been way funny if they said something about TG stealing MC's design. I like the 85 better than tha new fj. The exo on the fj looks gay. The 85s rear end looks so sick. Makes me want to build one. They ended the show today with doing a internal cage on the 85 hope it comes out good. The guy said the exo on the new fj needed to be tight on the rig, it didnt look tight to me, looked about 4-5 inches away from the windsheild. Oh well.

what would be nice is if they would start a project and finish it.  It seem like you have to wait 6 months to see the completion.

They fixed the ranger a while back,  turned out someone used a standard bolt instead of grd8 and it sheared  allowing the axle to roll breaking everything else.  And as far as the exo goes,  not many of them look good anyways but at least they made it removable.

You guys are funny,  complain cause theres no toyotas on the show now there are two at once and still nobodys happy.  LOL

ya the ranger was taken care of a while ago, i wonder whats taking the suburban gorilla so long right now?

i like the 85 cruiser, if i remember correctly they were having a problem with the wiring though when it came time to test drive it. with the new cruiser, exocages are hard to make look good, but they did make it functional and removable, so i think they did good. i wish on the 85 though that they had gone with a marlin crawlbox instead of the np203 doubler, MUCH better crawl ratio.

I wouldn't call it complaining.  The show is pretty good for only 30 minutes.  Most people would just like to see a project worked on until it is finished, then start a new one.

That f-toy was sik. I love the idea of double cases with an auto. Now if those adapters were just affordable for us poor boys.

3rz + tacoma auto ??  You must have not read the part where I wrote cheap. Mabye in a couple years I could find a taco for cheap, but even the smashed to bits tacos are way to pricey around here.

Speakin of marlin publicity there was an artical about 3rd and 4th gen yotas in this months fourwheeler mag.  Talked about how most wheelers use first gen but there is a group showing that even new toyotas can wheel too.  Anyways some guy in a early 200? 4runner had marlin dual cases in his toyota.

"Marlin" on 'X'treme was great, makes up for the episode they trashed a perfectly good 85 for it's solid axles only, only to build a rockcrawler with the axles. Up here, in Ontario Canada, a truck in that condition is worth it's weight in gold in COMPLETE condition.
Marlin may want to bring a line of "'X'treme Marlin" parts for many Toyota fans...
Wow, been looking at my 4Runner rust away too long, need some inspiration and here I will find it...!

85 Toyota 4Runner, solid axle, 22Re, original paint and graphics and not a straight panel to be found!
