I have an 84 Toyota pickup 4x4 4Cly that needs gears, a guy is selling a set of 8" 5.29s for a good price, but I'm not exactly sure  what kind of rear end i have in my truck, I'm reading about high pinions from v6s and 7" and 7.5" rear ends, and i really don't know what goes in what year, any help would be awesome. thanks

if what he's selling is an 8" its what you want

you got a regular 4 cly 8" 3rd in the rear also same as your front so you can swap them around, and can stuff a v6 or high pinion if you wanted to but as long as its a 8" it will work

ya its two 8" gear sets, what years did the 8" come in?

'79-'85 front and rear. '79-9......somthin can't remember, rear only (7.5 front ifs)
So yes, those will work for you.

7.5" were IFS in the front. the rears are 8"
