Time for some updates...

Well, I had a front wheel bearing that :pokinit: on me last week  but that could only mean that it was time to do some long awaited upgrades.  :gap: However, minor, they were upgrades nonetheless.  :yesnod:  So, while I had the rotors off to replace all the wheel bearings and seals I decided it was time to do something about getting longer front wheel studs to accommodate thinner wheel spacers so my wheels can bolt directly to the hub and not via a bolt on wheel spacer. So here's what I found...

1)   These are the new wheel studs for the front not only are they about 5/16" longer they are also 1/2" and not 12mm.
       UPGRADE!   (Dorman part #610-073)

2)   These are the new rear wheels studs to match. Different part number and about 3/32" shorter than the stock studs but still
plenty to bolt on with out issue.  (Dorman part #610-183)

3)   here's the installed difference in length for the front

4)   here's the installed difference for the rear

Total cost for the wheels studs was right about $45.  8)

Granted, you'll have to spring for new lug nuts as well. I opted for a set of Gorilla Locks which were $50 but you can find some for way less at your choosing.

Here's the real answer to the question...there's enough stud sticking out with the spacer installed that it is right about the length of the stock stud with no spacer installed.

fordh8r

JUST FYI   8)

Now, IF you were just looking for an answer to this problem...

1)   Stud doesn't stick through the lug nut supplied with 1.5" wheel spacers

2)   This new stud is plenty long to fix that problem.

3)   The comparison of the 2

4)   If you wanted full stud contact, it wouldn't be hard to modify a longer nut to make this work.

5)   Here's the other reason I'm ditching the wheels spacers...   :yikes:
