ifs 4 wheel drive problem
« on: Jan 13, 2007, 08:34:35 PM »
i have a 1991 toy pickup 4x4 with crappy add front end.  the problem is on the front diff the wiring going down to the diff is gone and when we replaced the clutch we broke the wiring coming out of the transfer case and now the 4 wheel drive doesn't work. i  played with the wiring one the transfer case but it still doesn't work, is there a way to bypass the add and make it like a normal ifs. it already has manual hubs so that won't be a problem with the front end staying locked in.
83 shortbed frame / 88 extra cab / toy rears up front / grand cherokee in rear i believe / stock gears and motor / first time out rolled it with a broken neck

Just the LONG side inner axle and inner axle extension housing need to be changed.  All IFS 86-95 that did NOT have the ADD  have the passenger side inner axle extension housing and longer passenger side axle shaft that you need.   You could probably get it for next to nothing.   List in the WANTED section
95 4 runner. 4 cyl dual ultimate w. R150.  V6 rear w spool.  New Chevy springs on 12" extended frame.      Front.  SAS w chromoly shafts.  And spartan    In frazier park ca 93225
