I was in SE Asia last year and I saw a ton of new Toyota 4x4 trucks and SUV's, many diesel, all IFS. They looked nice, I bet they would be popular here. A different look than the Tacoma, but not cheap looking by any means.

I like the foreign Tacoma Hiluxs i think thats what they call them... maybe its still the Hilux over seas. but its pretty cool.

Back to H2 bashing. I found out those things come with a 4L65. I thought since it have bigger axles and the 6.0 they would use the 4L80. Then they suck even more. 4L60/4L65 trannys are worthless in such a heavy vehicle that should be used for towing. It has 3/4 size axles but not the tranny. That's funny because if they went to the 4L80 I bet MPG would suffer even more, but at least the tranny is stronger.

I wanna pregnant dog about Hummers some more.....maybe they deserve their own thread

At the off road park we were at this weekend....the owner of the park was telling us about a group of Hummers that came down and "wheeled"....

When asked how they fit down the tight trails...the owner says "Well, if they are going down a trail and there is a tree in the way....they just cut it down with their chainsaw"

I just nodded and said, "Well, that makes sense."

ive used shotguns at 2am to get thru a trail.

but hummers..... at those things are junk!

"This woman (not stereotyping here) took her mom and kids out in their H2, on the college campus. She found this construction site where the university was constructing a new statue with a high concrete protective platform around it. So, she tears across the construction site, which has a perimeter cable barrier (first picture), which takes her two runs to get through the, and across the dirt, up and over a one-foot high berm (second picture) at a reported 40mph, and then attempts to JUMP the concrete barrier protecting the statue, which looks to be about 3feet high! Results are obvious. When questioned about why she attempted this, she replied, "I wanted to jump the statue, I saw it on TV." She was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol... just blinded by lack of common sense. Construction Sites w/Concrete Barriers... (at least not at high speeds)"

That was what was so ridiculous about the whole H2 and H3s as being "good wheelers, like the H1" because the H1 served its duty well to the armed forces but for the individual who wants to go offroading, it is just NOT practical.

The H1 and the HUMVEE are two differant beast...

It's like comparing a lawn tractor with a snow blade to a D9H cat...
