Are 22r and 22re headers the same?
« on: Jan 08, 2007, 11:12:01 AM »
I am wondering if a 22r header can be made to work on a 22re? We are in a non-emissions situation here. Thanks.

I don't think so, the 22r exhaust outlet is round while the 22re is oblong, like an ovacado.

edit: oops, didn't see that emissions part. If you're not worried about that then as long as the header flange coveres all the ports then it should be fine right? flow might not be the best.  :dunno:

I asked the same questions when I put an re engine in my 84 as long as you use the header gasket not the stock exhaust gasket.  I have not had any problems w/mine.

Where is the best place to get a header gasket? I have gotten them from Downey in the past but I hate that place.
