The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first.

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

We have never fought a war without a draft.  Weather you think the war is right or wrong we still need to support the guys and galls over their and give them everything they need to be successful.

They've been talking about this for at least a few years now... I remember before the 06 presidential elections, the democrats absolutely swore that Bush was going to reinstate the draft if re-elected... these are simply political scare tactics. It's absolutely amazing how people will take hersay and turn it into facts...

FACT: The draft will be reinstated unless you vote for "X" party...

FACT: The world is about to end because of "man made" global warming...

FACT: Second hand smoke kills "X" number of people a year...

With the wonderful age of the internet, you'd think people would research things before they adopt them as truth... But alas, it seems the age of wisdom is not yet upon us... fear still dominates society, even though truth lies closer then ever.

And since when have we not fought a war without a draft? America has been all volunteer since the beginning of 1973 and we've been in quite a few wars since then.

actually, the last time the US declared war was in WWII. every "war" we've had after that has been by executive privalige, only congress can declare the US at war, but the president can send troops to wherever he wants and request an extension from congress to keep the troops there longer (we were talkin about this today in political science).

I was going off the dictionary definition of war, not the governments. When our soldiers are fighting another countries soldiers (or any enemy for that matter) then it's a war, no matter what the government wants to call it. Disagree? Go ask any soldier that's been in Iraq. Not that I think you're wrong... technically I'm sure your right.
