For now the date is June 14-15 Fathers Day weekend 2003.

The location is the same, the granite bowl, just down the trail 1/3 mile, on the Rubicon.

Just off the trail, up the hill to the right is the new tentative location.

Rubithon is June 18 (Wed) to June 22 (Sun).

while I hate to see these to premier events so close together and believe they will impact each other (some folks will have to choose), I guess you have to start somewhere.

Perhaps we can somehow offer reduced rate to Rubithon for those who run them both?  This would work for advance registration but not sure how....

I'm thinking of some new radial tires and driving it so I can go to both.

Or maybe trading my airline ticket in from my next trip. Broken colar bone is keeping me from snowboarding the French Alps.

Tony I agree this could be good for both events. I woulb be willing to volenteer for both events if I make it.

I'm unfamiler with the rubicon, on a scale of 1-10, 1 being my wifes sports car. and 10 being cruzilas rig, what would it take to get there?
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

cruzila

#14
Well, on a scale of 1-10 the rubicon is considered a 10. But............the granite bowl is 1/4-1/2 mile in. The "trail" is 15-20 miles long.

I've seen rigs 50 feet in that turned around.
ANY stock four wheel drive should be able to get to the granite bowl with little or no problem. There is sure to be someone to help guide. Post up closer to the event and maybe you can hook up with someone

Well my problem is my truck is a custom cab. wheel base like about 135" long!! 83 4x4 with about 5" of lift with 33s on it and 4,88s in it. is it a chance that with my wheelbase I mite make it up there, or is it just to long for that trail leg? I'd have the wify and kids along so I dont want to be TO brainless!!!!

Its not to bad at all. On your scale, maybe a 6 to get to the Round Up Event Area. ... Unless your wifes car is a 4WD subaru, then maybe its more like a 3.

Drew Pearson's Rubicon Bash. It's a 2 day, all Toyota Truck/4rnr Con run. There were probably about 20 rigs on it last year. It's usually on Father's day weekend.

So are there going to be any organized runs after, like a night run or anything, or just mainly concentrated around the bowl?

Not too sure that three days before the Rubiton is such a great choice of weekends?  I might be able to make it up for the day on Saturday or Sunday (depending on when the BBQ etc is..), but would most likely leave the rig home and hoof it in as I'm leading the Buck Island Run again this year and will be up there from Wed on as it is.....would rather see it in Aug as before, but just my 2 cents worth....Bob
