The irony of it, the exact day and meeting place of the Rubicon Bash the last three years!

We had about 30 rigs last year, 40 the year before, 30-something the first year.

2002

2000
http://www.4x4wire.com/trail/report/ca/rubiconbash00/index.htm?

This year the "Gettin' Off" 4WD club is going to run it, my rig is down and I don't know if I'll be able to make the run.  Surprised Marlin didn't remember, I always invite him.  Guys already have vacation scheduled, I'll let the club know and see how they want to handle it.  There was some talk of running the 'Con backwards this year, which would take care of meeting place issues.

last night, our club Gettin' Off 4x4 had our monthly meeting and talked about this.

we "plan" on meeting on top of cadillac on friday early and going backwards.

shirts are in the works.

then hopefully on sat morning, hit the slabs for the festivities...

How many rigs are you planning on bringing? We will need to know so we can prepare enough food!

Mike,
I won't be able to do the whole weekend as I'm leading the 9am Thursday Rubithon Run so have to do some of that Capitalistic "work" stuff in a short week.  I'll get with Scott and see if he want's me to cook again this year, and if you plan to do the Raffle on mid-afternoon on Saturday as in the past, I'll do it again for you if you want.  Was kind of fun doing it last year....Bob

mike,

because our club is an all-make club, we will have all sorts of vehicles.

so those coming with us, will reach the slabs and continue going.

those of us with toys and crawlers (which is probably 6 out of 7) will stay for the MCR...

dont worry we will all pre-reg for the MCR...

Ok Red,

I got it now. You should have seen it if you came through the main site to log into the Forum. Its a little check box in the lower right hand corner of the pop up window.

If you want the popup to return, then you will have to clear out your Browsers cookies.

Cya,

Mike...are you going to change the MCR date due to the condition of the trails in Rubicon? Its still wet and Im concerned about the damages etc. You know how the eco-nazis are....an absolute leeches for any trouble etc.

From reports I've heard, the slabs should be fine.  MCR is just a short way past the gatekeeper.  The exposed area gets a lot of sun, most of the snow is already gone.  The issue right now is past the Springs on the Tahoe side.

Yes, we are still on. The bowl is clear and dry. By then the trail will be dry all the way to the springs.
