Brass sleeve?  Do you mean the oil seal that sits around the shaft and seats in the axle tube?

nope its the weird brass bushing for the birf elimanator kit, he is wondering where they go, and do regular oil seals fit the kit? or does he need to get special seals

toytank

i think they are spindle bushings but they are loose on the shaft

thanks eric,  so got the elimiter kit installed today and started on my crossover steering. so what i did was i took the stock arms and switched ends and rotated them 180 my tierod runs over the top of my 3rd i had to grind a hair because it would not let it turn al the way.i used a champher tool to reverse the pitch on the arms so that i could still use the stock ball joints . i cut the front of the pass arm of and imgoing to weld 1/2 plate with a truss to it  that my drag link will attatch to tommorro i hope to get the ifs box mounted and start building my 1 link (y link)

Ahh, that's lookin nice!  Can I see a pic of what the U-Joint looks like inside the end of the bell on the housing?  That truss looks damn nice for homebrew fab.  I use a bunch of grinding discs for removing material, but the flap discs reallyyyy smooth it out good.  Then once you hit it with paint it looks like factory.  I'm thinking of ordering longfields on monday but I can't even find any info about Bobby Long having a warranty on his birfs.  I don't like birfields at all.  I don't even wanna drop the money on longs cuz it's all the same damn flawed design, just better material.  I just might go with a good Eliminator kit, get it cryo'ed, and install CTM's on each end.  My brother has a 77 Chevy 3/4 ton with a 44 up front and 14 bolt in the rear with a SB 350.  He has never ever blown a 44 U-Joint from abuse, he has replaced em when they wore out but never blown one to bits.  And he has 37's under a fullsize, backed by a V8 and manual tranny.  And when he wheels, the truck is either off, or WOT....  For best results, Floor It!  I wanna come by and see how the kit goes in.  Later dude!

coll i dont have any pics of the install sorry but it goes together real easy . you know me i dont like birfs caused me to much trouble. ive heard the best was to go is the 31 spline  chrome molly birfs. but i was told that if you use the ctm joints on the eliminater that it is every bit as strong  i just really dont like birfs

I'm gonna call bobby long on Monday and find out about any type of warranty.  Spending 635 on a design known to fail is kinda spooky.

Hey Rus, I was looking at All-Pro's site and thinking of you wanting to do coils on the front.  Anyways, under all-pros used section they have a set of used Eibach springs for 50 bucks.  It'd be worth the call to see what the dimensions of em are.  I'm calling bobby long in the morning and seeing about warranties.  Later bro

well i got the links started today but ran out of dom. do you ever have a plan in mind and when it comes down to it , the damb thing just will not work. thats where im at. i wanted to run a  yn style one link. but it just will not go with the rear steer  so now im 4 link the front. its going to work out just need more steel. and i got fired so instead of air shox i went to the junkyard today and found a set of cherekee coils. i think they will work out ok..so i need to build spring  mounts andbuild one more arm for the 4 link. ill need to find some shocks because mine are no where close to long enough now. well here are some pics. the spring are just set in there i wanted to see my ride hight. and i m missing an arm so looks funny.    :smack:
