I'm a newbie here...  Been mostly into diesel performance etc.. I have a 01 Dodge 2500...  around 650hp and 1400lb TQ...  I've previously pulled doubles on a trip approx. 400 miles round trip in TX.  There are different laws for different states.  Here the total length must be 45ft or under (I was 45.5), the first trailer must be a gooseneck or 5th wheel, the second trailer can be either goose or tagalong.  The first trailer must also have working brakes.  I pulled a 20ft goose with brakes on both axles that was pulling a double jetski trailer.  Truck could have stopped faster with the trailers than without...  No lie that's the beauty of trailer brakes, if they are setup correctly than your truck has the ability to stock faster with the trailer than without...  I always have my trailer set to lead my truck meaning the trailer starts stopping before the truck.    I ran no problems, very safe...  PS no special license is required as long as you are hauling for yourself...

Get an Air matres then your not sleeping on the ground you'll be sleeping on "air"  :camping:

 :scared: :sheerterror:  :chillpill: :scared: :sheerterror:

Air mattresses in winter sucketh.

Foam is the way to go.  For ultimate winter camping warmth, use a 1/2" ethafoam/ensolite pad under a Thermarest pad and a high loft (down or synthetic) 0šF or 5šF bag.  (You compress the bag under your body, so you actually need the pad for warmth.

Cots are only OK if you have wood or propane heat...if it's an unheated tent, don't let the cold air circulate under you!!!

All you need to do is drink a lot before you go to sleep.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

So you can spend the night getting up to go pee!!!   :rofl2:

Seriously, though, it does help to be well-hydrated...and eat plenty of fatty foods for dinner..they keep the metabolic fires burning all night!   :flamer:

i know this an old subject but i have done this MANY times. as long ae you are 100% sure that your front trailer is at least 100lbs (depending on the total weight) heaver. it is not a big deal just remember keep slow. i pulled my rig over Parleys canyon in utah with my 78 1/2 ton long bed. i was a little under powered but i had no issues. if you have any questions let me know. like people check your local laws first of all
