New Pivot Block Design

How high is Dim A, if it is too high it will be like using lift blocks and cause spring wrap.

Dim B is too close together and should be spread out more like Dim C to make the pivot stronger.

Dim A is the same hieght as the current design. 2"
I could lower that by cutting out the original perch and just using the pivot perch but lower.

I'm thinking about having 5 or more sections on the hinge instead of 3 to help with the shear & crush strenght. Know what I mean?

  You may want to consider a shouldered bolt too so you can't over tighten it and pinch the hinge. 

In fact make the spring side longer and add an extra hinge on each end. That will definitely spread the load out.

like it lots, these should definatly be sold on ebay or simlar, i think they would sell well here in england, just a thought why not drill the bolt and fit a grease nibble so as to help with lubrication.

I was thinking of building something like those a while back. I needed a 4inch lift block but went with a drop block instead. I never got far enough to work out measurements and scale like you have, plus I think your design would be stonger with the longated lobes. But I did want to incorperate a shim in mine that could be used with standard u-bolts. The thought was that it would take most of the stress off the block during everyday use and could be easily removed when wheeling or put back in if the pivot failed.The same top hole would have been used to bolt the springs on. For what its worth here is what I had before I scraped the idea.
