Cool,  I have been waiting for the links to go on since you started talkin about it forever ago!!   Are the notches a little big for your axle tubes?

Doof

how hard is it to convert drum to disk?

skipnrocks

Usually you buy a kit, take off the drums and weld on the brackets for disc.  I think you also have to re-regulate your mastercylinder because you have to send more pressure to disc brakes.

got some :pokinit: done today, started off by driving all over the place looking for a piece of metal to make my frame end upper link mount out of and once we got to a metal shop to buy some we decided to get some 2x4 1/4" wall and got all the bolts and some other supplies while we were there.  then we got the lower links all assembed and completely tacked in.  after that i was really happy how it was looking with 109" wheelbase untill i went to mock up the upper link in place and realized it was not going to fit at all unless i hacked out the cab majorly or lifted it(not happening) so i decided to just move the axle back and it everything will be better and ill have more clearence for the driveshaft.  it is kinda sketchy looking how close the link is to the shaft but i jacked it up till there was 4.5" between the coil mount and frame and it was just hitting the tub.  I can garantee it will never compress that far.  after that i got the main piece of the upper link mount made and welded up and pressed the bushings in the upper link and thats about it for the day.  should sit right at about 113" wheelbase which should be better anyways and climb great.

Ramrod

heres the proof:

upper link mount

full compression (look at space between axle and jackstand to see travel)

sitting in its home

ride height or maybe 1" lower than

upper link

Ramrod

im going to cut of the lowest mounting holes on the upper link bracket, they will be most likely unusable

kiyul4130

an your getting a new tank or no? (colbys right here) he says it looks like you need a 66' tank out of a beatle. haha

Haha is your inchworm adapter leaking too?  Mine leaks and it pisses me off.  I had taking one step forward and 2 back.

Ramrod

mine didnt leak forever but the rear tcase output did and litterally 3 hours after i fixed that the adapter started dripping, these days it drops a 6" puddle in a couple hours
