a 22r with some power mods and the right gearing in that 60 will be fine for turning 42s

I'm running 42" Iroks with a bone stock 22r, runs perfectly fine...

Dana 60 front end with 5.38's and a Corp 14 rear end with 5.38's. Dual 2.28's pull it up anything and everything.

keep the 7.17's.  it won't be too low and with a 22r you won't break them.  you will only have to buy one set of gears instead of two.

I've got 40's and 5.86 gears in my 60's and wouldn't hesitate to run a 42 on them, my 22r will turn them fine if only they were cheaper than 350 a piece :shocking:

yea flex is cool and will make all your friends go "wow look how high that tire is off the ground!" but remember.. one of your main concerns should be stability when you build this rig.. .you dont want to go up a 6ft rock and have the thing unload on you and you flop it or roll down a cliff.

btw this is a 16" shock completely extended, mounted 10* in and 10* back (back for the front and forward for the rears)

We took 3 guys and couldn't tip it no matter how hard we rocked it.  :)

roughly 60" (5 ft) of articulation before it would pull a tire off the ground

This is my build up thread, what specifically do you want to know?

3 link front and rear, upper link is mounted directly in the center of the axle and the lower links are the percentage of the width on the axle. 16" fox air shocks mounted 10 degress inward and 10 degree's backwards for the front shocks and 10 degree's forward for the rear.

if you plan on going single rate coilovers then your probably going to have alot of body roll, make sure you put a sway bar in the back (atleast)

what size shaft did you plan on running?   2.0's?  2.5's?  3.0's??

i'll be going coilovers in the rear hopefully by the begining of next year, thinking about an 18" shock instead of the 16's

not really sure yet though  :headscratch:

i'll get some info together for you and just PM you w/ it.

i am going with a 2.0" shaft i do plan on dual or tripple rate but not right away, since you are thinking about 18'' shocks should i just get those to start with no hassle later, does your builder have some kinda drawing or cad design of your suspension just all the measurments would be awsome instead of an exo'd cab like you have i plan on putting a formula toy chassie on it with more bracing and crossmembers

well my toe still hurts but it is slowly getting better, i think that i might go 4.3 v-6 but i am still not possitive i would still love to mock your suspension and i am leaning twards 18" coil over so if you can get a pice from your builder on he brakets and cross members that would be great i would like to do my own links just the same as yours but beefier( i am a clutz and i'm very hard on stuff) thanks shamb your truck is bad  :moon:
