That's only a 5% difference between no-name junk gas and "top tier".  Not sure where I stand on this one - to pay the 5% for a decent quality product, or to buy the lower priced goods in an effort to bring prices down.  Hmm...guess it depends on what I'm driving at the moment.

Can I tell which country or State the gasoline at my local station comes from?

For several reasons, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) cannot definitively say where gasoline at a given station originated:

EIA does not collect data on the source of the gasoline sold at retail outlets.

The name on the service station sign does not tell the whole story. The fact that you purchase gasoline from a given company does not necessarily mean that the gasoline was actually produced by that particular company's refineries. While gasoline is sold at about 169,000 retail outlets across the nation1, about one-third of these stations are "unbranded" dealers that may sell gasoline of any brand2. The remainder of the outlets are "branded" stations, but may not necessarily be selling gasoline produced at that company's refineries. This is because gasoline from different refineries is often combined for shipment by pipeline, and companies owning service stations in the same area may be purchasing gasoline at the same bulk terminal. In that case, the only difference between the gasoline at station X versus the gasoline at station Y may be the small amount of additives that those companies add to the gasoline before it gets to the pump.

Even if we knew at which company's refinery the gasoline was produced, the source of the crude oil used at that refinery may vary on a day-to-day basis. Most refiners use a mix of crude oils from various domestic and foreign sources. The mix of crude oils can change based on the relative cost and availability of crude oil from different sources.

Back in the long ago, you could flip the lever over and get 104...of course Nixon was President at the time, they may have changed their policy since then.

theirs a few pumps here that pump some 109 i think? last time I checked it was over 6bucks a gal. higher now for sure. but my street bikes just cut my fuel bills in half!! ssoooooo happy but I already miss my runner.

We've got a station (VP I think) that sells 104 at the pump.  Haven't driven by it in a while, when I moved to reno, it was 4.30 a gal

I'm already seeing signs down here as to why the prices are going up due to the cost of fuel.  

One of my favorite Taqueria's wont even give out chips anymore blaming gas costs.

I think the whole thing is just a giant conspiracy by whoever our new president will be.....the government already knows who will get "elected" and they're purposely making everything go down the tubes so the new president will come in and magically "fix it" and look like some sort of savior to us all?

One reason is " from what i was told" Opec dose not control the price of diesel. like gas

Also the newer emissions standards on the new diesel fuel takes more 2 proccess

OPEC doesn't control the price of gas or diesel...they control, at least by setting a minimum price, the price of oil.

The new emission standards don't help, though. The fuel costs more to produce and the trucks are getting about 25% less MPG.

So, if it's the economy and the weak dollar (in a nutshell) thats causing the oil price to skyrocket.  What will happen when the economy and dollar get strong?  Stay the same?  The senate committee drilled the heads of big oil and each one of them make over several million just in pay alone, were quoted that if the economy and and the dollar were strong, the price of oil would be around $55 a barrel!  Not $134.

Im with you on that one... i dont see the price of oil ever going down.
the only way to lift the weight off of americans is to pay the middle and lower class more on their wages.....

because to sit back and dream and hope the price of oil to go down.. is soooo farfetched, that i dont plan on seeing that happening in my lifetime.
