Tow Straps and Clevis Loops
« on: Aug 28, 2006, 12:30:23 AM »
I'm looking for the above in the Sacramento area.  I need to replace my old tow strap, its frayed on one end.  Where have ya'll found yours, for a good price.  I've found a couple of places online, but I'm hoping to save on shipping.  I'm gonna have to order soon, so speak up! thanks!
I'm looking for a 3 or 4" by 30  tow strap and a couple of 5/8 or 3/4 screw type clevis loops.

HF doesn't have crap that I've found, and the 4 wheel places in sac want way to much :dunno:  If I don't find some soon, I'm gonna order some from Northern Tool

oh yeah, need a hilift too, but I may just get it a 4wheel parts :smack:

Try Blue Collar Supply. That's where I always get mine, and it's a fun store to wander around.

They all carry crap as far as towstraps go, just those emergency ones that I wouldn't trust to hold my own weight :headshake:

I'll have to check blue collar.  I love supporting marlin, and I'll go that way if I need to, but I think I can get them cheaper.

Glen, I'll have to check a truck store that is near my work, and Mike, I didn't even think about it. :smack: I've only been in there once

your hardware stores suck then, we have the keeper snatch straps at ours, the ones with no rope and no hooks, that are rated for actually snatching a truck out.....

i was looking online, and www.quadratec.com is for jeeps but they have a lot of recovery equipment, their prices seem decent too

they've got some 2"x20, but I'm looking for something bigger, and a litle stronger.  I'm gonna check blue collar tommorow, and then head over to central.  and check 4wheel parts in person.  I was told their website could have a mistake.

You may also want to try ebay for the strap.  My buddy bought an old lifting strap.  Apparently they're supposed to be replaced periodically even if they aren't damaged.  It's rated at something ridiculous like 50,000 lbs new.  It was in great shape.  A bit faded, but no frays or anything.  It was cheap compared to everything else.

picked up a 3" x 30' towstrap at 4wheelparts today.

I hate that store, nothing is priced, and I almost got blinded by all the chrome in there :headshake:  strap was $35, best price I've seen so far
