What's the deal with 37" MTRs???
« on: Aug 15, 2006, 11:06:27 AM »
Hey guys,

I have been trying now for two weeks to locate some 37x12.50x15 MTRs with no luck.

Everyone is out of stock everywhere.

I did find these on eBay Goodyear Wrangler MTRs 37x12.5x15 MTR MT/R mud 37", but its still got another week basically and I need to get some tires moving in the mail sooner than later.

I am going to go downtown today on my lunch break to look at some Pitbull rockers. I really really really really like the Rockers, but they are just too wide for my taste. But, I have only seen a 35" Pitbull so maybe the 37s look better as a 13.5" wide.

I will post what I think about em later today

I will take some pics :gap:

Anyone know how much 37" IROCs weigh?

Regarding the 37" MTRs.  One of the guys in my club just tried to pick up a set.  The Goodyear dealer told him that they are shipping all of their 37x 12.50x15's over to the war in Iraq. They couldn't locate 1 tire anywhere in their warehouses across the nation. He called all over Sacramento and the only place that had one was 4wheel parts. They only had 4 they could locate.

I thought the Hummers used 16s?

Anyways, Bevin and I are gonna go downtown on Fri to check out the 37" Rockers. :crossed: Bevin just got 37" Interco TrXus MT's so I've gotta do something to keep up with that crazy guy.

I have been riding my hog everyday so my truck has become much less of a daily driver. Maybe some Pitbulls wouldn't be so bad...

I got some 37" mtrs form discont tire in June and it took about 2 days to find them, found them in Texas but i was told the some thing, the general puplice got put on hold so they can produce more of the 37's to ship over to the boys kicking  :moon: so ya they are 16.5" rims size but more muchins making tires = more tires. It suck but on a good note i only payed $220 per tire cant bet that. what about bfg? thats what i wonted but you have to go to a 17" rim.

ahhhhhh bfgs are washed out. They were great back in the day when they were the only thing available, but now there are just too many options that are better than the BFGs in my opinion.

I don't know what Bridgestone has not jumped in on it all. Their Dullers are nothing more than the BFGs. Bridgestone has the best on road tires for mountain racing in my opinion from back in my MR2 days. They've got a lot of technology.

According to what I found on Pirate the 39.5" IROK weighs about the same as a 37" MTR, or 76 lbs with whatever wheel he was using..maybe that'll help some.

WAIT FOR 37 MTRs THEIR FREAKIN AWESOME!

He knows, he's run them before.  Its just a matter of not being able to wait long enough, and who knows when our boys over in Iraq and Afghanistan get to come home :usa:  Their tire needs are a bit more important in this day and time

Have you checked here? This is where we got our tires from.  http://www.ntwonline.com/index.cfm

I nothing else just get some 38 TSL Swampers till you can get what you want. You can always sell them off if you want later.

Hey Mike, what about the Toyo's? THey look to have a semi similar tread to the MTRs. Price wise they are along the lines of a 37" Irok. They do list at 14.5" wide though so you might not like them. I've heard decent things about them and I know a few comp guys are running them maybe a different compound though.

MTR'S ARE OUT DATED, OVER RATED AND OLD TECNOLOGY,

TRY SOMETHING NEW THAT ACCTUALLY WORKS BETTER!!! LIKE THE TOYO M/T YOU CANT BEAT THIS TIRE AND YOU CAN GET THEM AMOST ANYWHERE, THESE TIRES ARE AMAZING I CANT BELIVE HOW WELL THEY WORK IN ANY CONDITION MY 37'S ONLY TOOK 1.25OZ TO BALANCE AND AS FAR AS WHEELING OH MY GOD THEY MAKE EVERYONE WITH ANYTHING ELSE LOOK RETARTED.  IN COMPARISON TO BFG KRAWLERS, BUT PERSONALLY I THINK THAT THEY DO BETTER AND THEY WHERE AWSOME.

CHECK IT OUT http://www.toyo.com/tires/tire_lines/off_road/opmt.html

PROS:

BALANCE GOOD
QUITE ROAD NOISE
GOOD RIDE QUALITY
CHEAPER THAN MTR'S
AVALIBLE
1" WIDER
ONLY 93LBS IN A 37X13.50R17 LOAD RANGE D 10 PLY
SUPERIOR TRACTION TO ANYTHING ELSE IN ANY CONDITION

They look a lot like bfg m/t design. The only drawl back to them is 14.5" wide i personly not to fond of them being that wide but i do like. Do you have a problem with them rubbing?

I work for goodyear and there on back order until they run there mold.Goodyear makes a certain tire once a year and pull the mold out until the following year so when the stores run out completly goodyear doesnt just make them again until the mold is scheduled to run it sucks

nobody get toyo mt's unless you just drive on the road. i know a couple people and have spoken too a number of people who have run them in multiple sizes and had nothing good to say about them except that they are pretty quiet and they run smoother then most all mud terrains. which if you ask me are 2 qualities that i could care less about on my 4 wheeling rig. they suck off road. id run bfgs before i ran toyos for a wheeling truck. toyos for the dd.
83 yota that wheels
04 wrx wagon that hauls butt

I would have to agree with this. Those toyo's ride and wear great on the road... but the same attributes that make them a great road tire, make them a less than average off-road tire. IMHO.
You have a Jeep?  That's cute.... So does Barbi.

You must work at Les Schwab.  :shakehead:  I did, until i got away from those shisters.  :_oops: I cannot stand that place. I watched so many people sucker into schwab salesman. And if anyone has noticed, toyo mt's is the first thing they will try and sell you, because that is what they make the most money off of. I have alot of friends around here that have ran those tires, And THEY CANNOT STAND THEM!!!!!  37" on a Dodge Dakota, 37" on a toyota, 35"s on dodge 1500, 33 on a Jeep wrangler and THEY ALL CANNOT STAND THEM!!!!!  They wheel with them, they daily drive with them, ANd that have all switched to Either BFG mtr's or Super Swampers. Stay away from Toyo PERIOD!!!  :_order:

Finally Straight Axled, e-Locker, 5.29's, Lockright Rear, 13" travel tractor spline driveshaft, CV eliminator, Fully Gusseted front axle, Marlins almighty 5" Trail Flex lift Kit, 36" TSL's

In Marlin Crawler, I trust.
