Was wondering what kind of axle this is? found it at a sand pit awile ago and decided to snatch it, its been sittin around for awile and was thinking i might use it for my rear.

idea here is to see if i could benefit by using this axle under my taco, after getting all new innards of course. as thing stand right now, im going to have to run 2 inch wheel spacers on my taco axle and im worried about the strenght.

drugs are bad, mmmk?  I'd say definitley 10 bolt.  The Taco axle should be plenty strong, though.

Another vote for 10 bolt. Your Taco axle is at the very least, as strong as the 10 bolt, most likely stronger. My suggestion is to run some 2" or 2.5" BS wheels. I've run spacers on the rear before but I didn't dd it.

i already have some 4 inch BS wheels that im going to run. i am having a FROR Diamond housing made for the front with added width to account for the wheels, but i will have to run 2 inch spacers in the rear to make it all match up

I think you'll still be better off even with the spacers.

10 bolt run away and don't look back. Toyota stuff will be stronger and lighter. you can make them live if you want  but it takes time and $$$.

You could always go with things the way they are and save the decision until you have a chance to check out the wide-track front.  Some people really like being wider in the front than rear...you can make tighter turns!

look at the junk yards for a chevy 2500 with 6 lug wheels

this rare little number is a factory option  14 bolt semi float with 6 lugs

Its not a matter of the way i like it, but more so a matter of making the tires fit with the wheels i have.  although, i do prefer vehicles with a similar width front and rear.
