Is there a Power Steering conversion writeup??
« on: Aug 09, 2006, 06:31:26 PM »
I know this might be a dumb question but oh well! I have all the pieces to convert my 85 non-power steering to power steering. Is there a writeup on the steps anywhere? Just looking for something to go by. I have all the pieces in a box with all these random bolts! Oh yeah, I'm doing crossover steering too. Any help would be great!

What is there to know? Pump will bolt right up, add belt, resovior (sp), cooler and box.  There all a kazillion threads about how to do crossover, and mount the box and what not.
You have a Jeep?  That's cute.... So does Barbi.

Yeah, I know about mounting the box. Just wanted to know a little more about what goes where but it sounds like its pretty easy so I'll give it a shot. Thanks

mount the ifs box as far forward as you can

pressure hose goes from pump directly to gearbox,  return line goes from gearbox to cooler in front of radiator then back to resevoir

Thanks for the advise 79Coyotefrg, I'm going to start tearing my truck down this weekend. If I have any questions I'll let you know.
