good pics.      looks like a good time.

I too have a crazy loud clicking that matches engine speed and goes away when the clutch is pushed in.  Is there a funny grumbly noise when at idle that also goes away.   All's I know is that it is NOT my Valves, or my Timing chain guide.   Ghrr I cant find this noise.  So I have been thinking about pulling the tranny out.

Well it's been a while since i updated my thread, since the last time i've talked, i have gotten a new g52 tranny out of and 86 extended cab, and..... well thats about it im debating on a flatbelly because i have to cut the tunnel up any ways for the new tranny, Speaking of that i have a few questions.... do i have to have a body lift to do a flatbelly, with the motor not being at an angle anymore will there be any problems? I will probably have to cut out the horse shoe crossmember, is there any ways to just replace the whole peice instead of notching the old one (strength issues is my concern) The build has been put on hold along with all other building of anything because i need some money so i've been working 60+ hour weeks in order to save some cash, Im hoping in about a month ill be ready to dive back into the build. That about it for now.

I know how 60+ hour work weeks cut into the truck schedule. I work for a paving company. And if you already have to cut the tunnel up I would try to go for the flat belly. There are a lot of good build up threads on here as you already know. Good luck

A body lift would help alot, but I know how people are about BL's, everyone wants to talk sh*t about them, but I bet NOBODY out ther has any REAL facts why a small properly done body lift is in any way negative. They are fine and it helps big time with your clearance, or if you are wanting a flat belly and drivetrain lift, it is a must if you don't want to cut out a bunch of metal and stuff.
It looks like a BL might raise your truck taller than you want, though, and then there is the "gap" problem with bumpers and what not..
Whatever you do, the flat belly will help you on the trail so I would try to work that into you'r plans....
Nice rig, and
 Hang in there bud....

Alright so i've been thinking really hard about the flatbelly, and i've talked to some guys i know who run the western W.E. Rock and they told me for the kind of wheelin i have around here and the wheelin i plan on doing a flatbelly really isn't needed, So i re-thought my build process and all i have to do is cut a rectangle about 9in wide and between 18-24 in long on top of the tunnel this will leave me enough space to rivet the new plate to the old tunnel and give me the new metal i need for the shifter holes. It also means that my truck will be on the trails sooner so i decided im going to hold off on the flatbelly until the next build and just get the tranny and truck running again. I know i shouldn't rush things and i am actually going to take my time putting everything back together but this is just one step that i don't have to do so im not going to.

So while im waiting for my parts to get here i've been looking into doing a propane conversion on the truck so i don't have to deal with the flooding out of the carb. Ive looked and GotPropane.com but is there any others that people have run that are good systems? This mod probably wont happen for a year or so but it never hurts to do a little research.

the only other "production" kit i have seen for propane is from nash forklift on ebay.  their kits is missing various parts plus it run a 100 or 125 mixer as carey's (got propane) kit runs a 225.  i have gotpropane on my 83 and i like it.  i went out for about 3 hours a few weeks back and when i went to fill the tank on friday to go out again it took 1.3 gallons.  i got my 10 gal tank used from a local propane supplier for 105 filled

Is propane legal in Washington for on hwy?  In Oregon it's legal, but in Cali it's only legal off road!  You might want to check first.

So a little update for all of you who care:
Tranny is up and in the truck front drive line is done and the rear d-line will be taken down tuesday to get shortened and balanced. Im ordering a set of marlin UM-05 Birfs because i cant afford bobby longs right now so im just going to get something a little stronger that stock and drive easy. There is a jeep jamboree this weekend in little naches so im hoping that i might be able to make that one if not ill go up later on.  We'll see what happens im just excited to be able to wheel again my trucks been down for to long. :woohoo: Ill take some pics of the crossmember when i get it I tucked the tranny up as far as i could without having to cut up the tunnel to much If i had the clocked 10* Adapter plate i could almost pull the flatbelly off without cutting the tunnel but i've got to work with what i've got maybe later on ill order the other adapter plate and fix it. Until next time good wheelin and have a
