transmission rebuild

i'm gonna try rebuilding a spare tranny i have laying around. Hopefully if i get er together throw a doubler on it and swap er in..
anyways i'm gonna order the rebuild kit, but is that usually all it takes? Are there many problems with the gears and otehr parts wearing or is it mainly the bearings and syncros?
i need to find me a fsm too

it is a extremely  challenging task,  but if you feel up to it

ive found  its usually the bearings and synchros :yesnod:

mainly its the bearigns and synchros... however if the tranny was bad due to being run low on oil, then you probably have some stripped out gears, and that could be all bad.... at that point, its a paper weight, as it would cost more than a replacement to indivualy replace gears or shafts
