Hi, i have a 1980 toyota 4x4 shortbox 4 speed 20r, and i wana put some 38s on it, would 5.29 gears be the way to go, if so were is a good place to buy them, i looked at them on marlincrawlers website and they are $195 for a set, is that a decent price to pay.also what 5.29 gears would i need that would fit in my truck axels.
are these the right gears to use

Yes.  You want those gears, and those are the ones I'd run with 38s.  If you're going to be crawling you're probably going to install dual cases or 4.7 gears, so you should be totally fine with 5.29s.

Sky has got some cheapies on right now. I think $155 USD per set for Yukons, thats a fairly good deal. Especially with the exchange rate these days, VISA is charging 1.14% lately, that'd be $175 Cdn!

Longfield sells 5.29s that are cryoed for $170. If you are running 38s, you should consider a set of 30 spline axles too.

I run 4.88's on my 38" SXs for strength over 5.29's. You with the 4 speed and 20R better go with the 5.29's tho

Sky is closer (Eugene, OR) and shipping is cheaper plus no state tax. Find a PO box to send it to, go across the border and pick em up yourself to avoid expensive custom broker fees. I know there is a USPS office in Blaine, WA you could get em sent to... or if you have a friend in WA that you can get UPS to send it to. That's the cheapest way as a Canadian!
