I want to run 36x12.50R15 tires :gap:
However I just got my rims a little while ago(15x8)
Interco says to run 12.50s that my rims have to be 15x8.5 - 15x10's
Anybody here run 12.50's on an 15x8 inch rim ???
Will my sidewalls stick out to far
Thanks in advance :beerchug:
Roll me back over !!!

RUGER

i run my bfg 35" a/t's on 15x8's
that is alot of side wall i run them at a lower psi to keep them wearing even.
the swamper sidewall is stiffer but i don't see why not. on my 35x15.5 swampers i run on 15x10's.

happy trails

From my understanding they will be fine. My friends friend has 49 Iroks on 14" wide rims and they are 21" wide...

I had 38/15.50/15 on 15x10s and i am currently running my 37s on 15x10 but was gonna use my 15x8s
RIP Kyota.... you are the man

GET IT!!!

I've seen ppl run 37s on 8s

I think with a 12.50 and a 8 in wheel you will be fine,,a little squish and a tight fit will help from loosing a bead..
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

I ran 38x12.5's on 7" wheels and I loved it.  I never lost a bead go figure.  I wheel with a guy that has 36x13.5 iroks on a 7" wheel.  His rig is going fine like that.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

ratzila

I sold a set of 44" boggers to a guy that mounted them on 15"X8" wheels. They looked awful. I used to run them on 15"X14" wheels

derek

i run my 38"x12.5"x15" tsl's on 15x8 rims.
run them at 4 lbs on the trail and have never lost a bead.
run them at like 25 lbs on the street.

Hey-
Do you guys (who are running 37s or 38s on 8" wide wheels) have problems with the centers of your tires wearing out?

Because I am going to go 37s this summer but just figured I would run 10" wheels so I can get more life out of my tires on the streets.

I guess doing what derek is, at 25 lbs it would save the centers, but then the tire will run a bit warmer, consume more gas mileage, and have more sidewall roll in the corners (an actual concern of mine as my last ride was a Superchraged MR2 and I drive my truck like its a MR2).

I would like to stay with 8" so I can run less air without blowing a beed, but I also need to get some normal life out of the tires.

Thanks
BigMike

Driving a toy4x4 with 37's like a MR2 sounds scary :scared:
Won't the tires buldge out real bad with 37's on 8in rims ???
I was just wonderin :dunno:
Roll me back over !!!

MiniSimp

You just run a lower air pressure and they will flatten back out.

KYOTA

35x12.50 on 8" rims and when I go to 38's I will run them on the 8" rims also, like whats been said the narrower rim will hold a bead better at low pressures

I currently have 33x13.50 LTB's on a 15x8 wheel. They will work no problem.
I ran 33x12.50's on a 15x8 on my 93 4 runner had no issues loosing a bead or anything I ran them at 12-14 psi offroad..

There's a guy on pirate running 38x14.50 TSL/SX's on a 15x8 wheel.
I think his name is TNToy on there.

when i was pricing tires. big o would not even mount a 12.5 tire on an 8" rim. les schwab and discount both swore by the 8" and told me not to get 10" wheels

The height of the tire (35-38") won't have much effect on the wear patterns, unless you try to drive it like a sports car. I've been running a set of 35x12.50 MTRs on an 8" rim on an 80 series LC for about 35k mi with no uneven wear. Just rotate every 3-4k and you should be fine.

My friend ran 37 mtr's with 15x8's.  It would ware the same as others.  It looked cool.  I like the look of 15x8's rather then 15x10's.
