hydro assist ram mount pics
« on: May 08, 2006, 09:55:03 PM »
Hey guys,

I know there is a thread on the hydro assist stuff but there are very few pics of peoples mounts.  With as many people that have done this on here, there has to be more pics of final set ups.

I am to the point of making my mounts and welding them up.

Thanks

Aaron

I havn't got that far on my build. If you look at my front links. I ran tubing across the front specifically to mount the ram to, it'll HOPEFULLY make it a little easier. Not sure on the pump mount yet...

Well, since nobody posted any other pics besides the ONE in the hydro thread, I finally decided on this.

It should work o.k.   We shall see.

Then after all that stuff was welded up, we did a little car crawlin.

The only thing I could suggest to improve on  it IF you ever have a problem is to box ang gusset behind the mount @ the third. Looks great tho! How is it? I havent had mine out yet. Did you end up using your cooler or going with something else? I remember you saying you were having a hard time finding a spot for it to fit. Last but not least you are coming to Cali in Sept right??

couple pics of mine

Yeah, I was gonna box it sometime but ran out of time before my trip to Disney, OK this weekend.  I sold that HUGE cooler and bought a U-Haul H.D. Tranny cooler and used it.   I am also still gonna expand my reservoir, it didnt give me any troubles but I am still gonna do it for POM.

Just got back, the hydro assist worked (lets spin the wheel of adjectives.....................................................) TREMENDOUS!!!!!!!

In spots were I had to strong arm it constantly, I was palming the wheel with one hand going back and forth.  I also fixed my rear shackles up to the rear of the frame so my shackle angle was not SOOOOOOO squatted and I was able to climb stuff that had always evaded me before due to bouncing and the springs unloading.

I am pretty pleased.

Can you post some more pics of that black toy? Specifically the bed? Appreciate it....

Oh no.  I would not scrap that idea, It is just on hold due to finances.  Looks like I may be getting layed off in the next year so I am not spending big bucks on anything right now.
