Ok gonna buy a new daily driver i found a 93 ex cad 3.0 If i get it i will install  4" ifs lift and 3" body lift 5.29 and 35 toyo's question is with all of that wil it pull a 1st gen short bed on a trailer or a car dolly to the trails if not what are the concerns any help is nice

dude,  i'd do the 3inch bodlift  run 33's and 5.29's  and keep the trail rig as light as possible  and use either a tow dolly  or just run a tow hitch and flat tow it

Really?  The 3.0 barely gets out of its OWN way!

You'll be asking quite a bit from the truck to tow anything more than a small utility trailer or small boat.  Another truck on a trailer will definitely put you over the towing capacity of that truck ( I think it was 4500 Lbs??)

You might consider a larger truck if you plan to tow frequently...

No seriously, yea he's right.. there's no way in hell you could tow a Toyota on a trailer with a 3.0 those engines are gutless.

Get something bigger with a V8 and longer wheelbase.

R.I.P to my Papa, I miss you pops......

I have an 89 extra cab with the 4cyl and I have trailered toyota's before.  I pulled a 69 FJ40 300 miles on a flat bed trailer.  with the 3.0 I'd be a bit concerned, and even with the 4cyl it can be tricky to pull heavy loads.

ever have used my truck, but we used a buddies 2wd 3.0 to tow his mom's totalled jeep cherokee to the scrapyard, pulled ok, just don't expect anyting from the brakes :nope:

Get more horses, and a longer wheelbase, you'll be much happier

Your asking way to much from a mid sized rig but if you have to, make sure you have strong trailer brakes or your asking for an early death sentence.

These guys are right, more ponies and a longer wheel base will make ALL the difference.
It's built Chevy tough with Toyota stuff!

I have a 93 with 2.4     and  it pulls my ATV OK 300  trailer 600 ATV.
Now i took home a Toro dingo   on a Ringo trailer  and my truck did not like that 2 much.  the trailer was about 800 ?  and the dingo is around 2200.  I would not pull more then that.
I will get the  exact # when i go 2 work tomorrow
