nitrous?
« on: Apr 03, 2006, 08:46:13 PM »
call me crazy but im looking into buying a nitrous kit for my 85. i plan on running a 75 shot. right now im looking at either the NOS Pro-Fogger EFI Wet Nitrous Kit or the Nitrous Express Universal Import EFI Systems . i know my engine can handle the power, it was degined for nitrous. my question though anyone have any history running nitrous on a 22re? is the fuel system, and ignition system up to it? i run 32's 4.10 gears, possibly gonna be 4.56 with supra lsd soon though, depends on wheat kind of power i can get. any input would be appreciated

I have a question, why?

Are you sure your fuel system is built enough to handle a 75 shot?  :yikes:

If your engine is BUILT to handle nitrous then I say go for it.. but thats a pretty damn built motor.

why is easy, more power. yeah im sure my engine could take a 75 shot on a regular basis. ill be running gauges to monitor everything of course. i found a couple of used kits on ebay and it seems like it might be a fun project

are u sure u want to add nitrous to ur truck ? what else could u do to make it faster with out nos u thought about that? not to sound rude or anything maybe a turbo would work or supercharger or whatever is long time affective just by the bottle u know what i mean?

not the stroker the street performer. bottom end is all forged

where the motor is at right now its plenty built and dont see getting more power out of it without costing an ass load. the compression is to high to make a turbo worth while and the supercharger for these things are to pricy. nitrous just seems like a nice little boost when i need it

Do It!

I have thought about the same thing, but I will only do it when my Yota is not a daily driver.

from what i have heard, the toyota ignition is a pretty good system, and can probably handle the power, but you might need to up the ante on your fuel system, as the stock efi fuel pump and so forth was only made to need to have to flow enough fuel for a 115 hp engine

Hey Skinny, I am having some serious thoughts of installing it on my truck as well.  I was about to buy a new steering wheel, but then thought of Nitrous, and I may buy a steering wheel with the Nitro buttons, yea that would be sick.

Keep  us postted and If I get it later this summer i will let you know.   :yesnod:
